Correcting the licence plate and refunds

The e-vignette is valid only for the plate it is registered for. Please check the plate carefully before you pay.

Correcting a typo: the 24-hour rule

• A foreign plate can be corrected only once and only within 24 hours of purchase.
• After 24 hours a correction is no longer possible.
• A Swiss plate can be corrected once.
• Wrong spaces or hyphens do not matter and need no correction.

If you ordered through our service and notice a mistake, please contact us at once via the support ticket.

A new licence plate

A plate change is only possible if the vehicle and the keeper stay the same, for example after a move or when a plate is lost – with the relevant vehicle documents. If both the vehicle and the plate change, the e-vignette cannot be transferred.

Is there a refund?

Swiss law gives no right of withdrawal for online purchases. The vignette fee is refunded only in exceptional cases:

• a proven double purchase for the same plate,
• a vignette bought by mistake for a vehicle that does not need one (e.g. a motorhome over 3.5 t).

There is no pro-rata refund for a vehicle taken off the road. For orders through our service, our General Terms and Conditions also apply.
