Buying next year’s vignette in December

The Swiss vignette is valid for 14 months. This raises the same question every year: which vignette should I buy in December and January?

When is the new vignette available?

The 2027 vignette is available from 1 December 2026 and is valid from purchase until 31 January of the year after.

How long is the old vignette valid?

Every annual vignette is valid until 31 January of the following year. From 1 February you need the new vignette.

What you get with us

• Order until the end of November: the current year’s vignette, valid until 31 January of the next year.
• Order from 1 December: the next year’s vignette, valid until 31 January of the year after.

You see the exact end date before you buy. If you drive in December or January and will also travel in the new year, the new vignette is the best choice: it is valid at once and covers both periods.

No automatic renewal

The vignette does not renew itself. For the fine for driving without a valid vignette see Fines without a vignette; for price and validity see Price and validity.

You can order the e-vignette online with us.
